The truth is that NO TIME COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED with any PTA membership. And best of all, membership gets you on the email list for this exciting monthly newsletter. Message from Sally Mills, Principal

A Big THANK YOU! A big thank you to PTA and all of our families that support PTA fundraisers! With your support, we were able to get a new primary playground installed over spring break. The kids are loving it already!!

Spring Activities

Wow! It’s hard to believe we only have April and May left of our school year! Classrooms will be busy with lots of learning activities and end of year assessments. We also have fun school and community events coming up! Here are the highlights:

April 19^th – Books with the Birds Bounce House Celebration at school

April 19^th – Fairmount’s Got Talent Show @ 6 p.m.

April 25^th– Jeffco Day Without Hate

April 26^th – Teacher Workday

April 28^th – Fairmount Firebird Chase 5K at Fairmount Park (see below)

May 3^rd & May 6^th – Assessment Days – Students Attend School by Appointment Only

May 6th – May 10^th – Scholastic Book Fair

May 8^rd – Walk & Bike to School Day

May 9^th – Field Day K, 1^st & 2^nd Grades

May 10^th – Field Day 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th Grades

May 23^rd – Last Day 5^th Grade with Continuation at Arvada West High School

May 24^th – Last Day Kindergarten through 4^th Grade

Messages from the PTA

Serving on the board has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I have cherished the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated and passionate parents, community partners, and school staff. After 5 years serving on the board, I believe it's important to recognize when it's time to pass the torch and allow fresh perspectives to lead the way. With that in mind, I am thrilled to announce that Pamela O'Connor will be taking over as the new President. Pamela brings a wealth of enthusiasm, and I have full confidence in her ability to continue the great work of our PTA.

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your support, commitment, and collaboration to foster so many great programs and initiatives. Together, we have accomplished so much, and I am immensely proud of what we have achieved as a school community.

While I may be stepping down from this role, please know that I will continue to be an active member of our PTA community. Thank you once again for allowing me the privilege to serve as your President. Pamela will officially take over in July as we transition into the new school year. I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of our PTA under Pamela's leadership!

Campbell Deane Scholarship

Do you know a high school senior? Please encourage them to apply.

Former Fairmount Elementary School students are eligible for a $2,500 scholarship as high school seniors. This scholarship is available to any high school senior that was enrolled at Fairmount Elementary School for three years or more, and has a satisfactory grade standing, citizenship record, and community service experiences. To apply, print the Scholarship Requirements and return your application to Fairmount Elementary School by Friday, April 12th, 2024. If you have any questions, contact Deidra at scholarship@fairmountpta.org.

Fit Fun Club - April 17th

This month, the Fit Fun Club is thrilled to collaborate with Peak Performance Running and the Girls on the Run Club for our Running into Spring Session! Join us on Wednesday, April 17th, starting at 2:45 PM. We'll be gathering in the gym and on the track for an action-packed hour. Students are invited to participate in various activities such as drills, stretching, running games, and races. It will be a fun-filled session; we can't wait to see you there!

Book Drive - April 29th to May 2nd

The Third Annual Fairmount Book Drive benefiting Lawrence Elementary will be here before you know it! Start gathering late preschool to 5^th grade level books that your child has outgrown for our upcoming drive. We would love to once again deliver thousands of books to local kids who need them. Beat the summer regression blues! Be on the lookout for an email regarding Summer Learning "Play to Learn" Kits. Information, pricing and ordering instructions will be coming soon!

Restaurant Night Fundraiser

Recycle Your Ink At Fairmount

Please drop off any empty printer ink cartridges for recycling in the main lobby bin.

Fairmount will earn money for your ink cartridges.

We have several business partnerships that generously donate money back to our PTA when you shop.

King Soopers Community Rewards

Sign up for Community Rewards with King Soopers and earn money for the school every time you shop for groceries. In the 4th quarter of 2023, 343 households generated $4,926.29 in rewards for our school. Please add Fairmount as your community rewards recipient!

Mabel's Labels

Support Fairmount PTA and keep your items out of lost and found with Mabel's Labels. Purchases connected to Fairmount earn 20% back to the PTA to help fund our amazing programs. Order here and make sure to select Fairmount Elementary (Golden).

Milk Caps for Moo-la!

In partnership with Longmont Dairy, Fairmount receives 5 cents for every cap we collect. Just as important, we rescue milk caps from the landfill by returning these to the dairy so they can be recycled.

Minted

The Fairmount PTA has partnered with Minted, an inclusive artist forum, to fundraise for a new kindergarten playground and upgraded sound systems for the school. Go to Minted.com, use the code FUNDRAISEFAIRMOUNTPTA, and receive a 20% discount on your order. Minted will also donate 15% of the total back to Fairmount.

SEL at Fairmount

The Social Emotional Learning team at Fairmount would like parents to be aware of Impact Parents, a great organization who supports families with kids with complex learning styles such as ADHD. They have a website, newsletter, podcast, webinars, support groups, and programs for kids too. Check out their website here.
