One School, One Book 2026

This summer, the whole Fairmount community is reading the same book together!

Every family received a copy of Kenny and the Dragon by Tony DiTerlizzi. We’re inviting all students, parents, teachers, and staff to read it over summer break — however works best for your family.

Why We’re Doing This

• Reading together builds stronger families and a stronger school community
• Everyone will have something fun to talk about when school starts in the fall
• The book is great for all ages — younger kids can follow the story while older readers enjoy the adventure and deeper ideas

How to Join the Fun

You don’t have to read it any one “right” way. Choose what works for your family:

• Read aloud together every night
• Take turns reading chapters
• Read quietly side-by-side
• Listen to the audiobook while following along in the book

The most important thing is that you enjoy the story together.

We created a free Activity Packet full of fun things to do while you read:

• And more!
